Growing up in Chapel Hill, no one ever would have guessed I would become a hair stylist. Between my love of sports (go heels!) and playing in the dirt, or 12 hour days at the pool in the summer, hair was the least of my concerns. It wasn’t until I started working as a receptionist in a hair salon in high school that I realized I had gotten my grandmothers love and passion for the cosmetology industry (and her passion for cooking and pasta making).
During my senior year of high school, I attended evening classes at CCCC for cosmetology before switching to Leon’s Beauty School in Greensboro to attend full time upon high school gradation. After a few years in the field, I decided to pack my bags, and head out west to Arizona, where I attended the Arizona School of Massage Therapy receiving my massage certification. After returning home from Arizona, I took a job at an Aveda salon, where I worked for several years. From the moment I started in the field, I knew one day I wanted to own my own salon, and with the help and support of my parents, my dream has become a reality with Salon Breeze. The icing on the cake, was being able to do it in my home town that I love so much.
